What a wonderful post! I could almost hear the joyful clatter of silverware on the plates and laughter at shared stories! I am always amazed at what memories my children have of family events and what traditions they have carried into their families!
Elegant, articulate writing, profoundly stated. I love your food descriptions: "A vat of crispy, trustworthy sausages." Wow!
Such a compliment coming from you, Bryan! (I also suspect that we all know how dire those UN-trustworthy sausages can be ...)

Thank you for this! <3
Such a lovely post.
Sometimes I think to retreat and pan slowly around the room of loved ones is perfection.
We then have a reel of detailed memories to play back later when we can give it time and attention. It's a bit like a comfort blanket as well.
And so lovely to put the face to the Terrierist's name...
Thanks Prue for this - I agree with the way you think as usual! (Stanley sends a particularly sideways kiss ...)
Felt like I was there...could hear the clattering and smell the sausage! Beautiful piece Sue. Thanks for sharing..
